Super Bowl Blog

1.    What ad did you find most entertaining, and why? (You should be specific and give details here – what was the product and what about the ad made it so entertaining to you?)
My favorite ad during Super Bowl 50 was the Kick Start Puppy monkey baby. The product being advertised was Kick Start, a energy soft drink. The ad was so entertaining because it was so weird and different from the others it stood out to me, I also like and have had Kick Start before.
2.    What commercial did you find the most dull/boring, and why?
The ad that I found the most dull and boring was the Doritos ultrasound with the baby busting out of the mom to get Doritos. It was really weird to see that and it didn't make me want to buy Doritos.
3.    What about your favorite ad made it most effective?
The fact that it was so different and that it stood out from the others.
4.    What about your least favorite ad made it ineffective?
It was really creepy to see the baby move then eject itself from the mom.
5.    Did either of your commercials (favorite or least favorite) feature any famous people?  Do you think that helped?  Why or why not?
No famous people where used in either ad. That helped because it was trying to show the products from normal people with babies or people who are bored with friends.
6.    What design elements or principles (lines, shapes, texture, color/color scheme, space, balance, contrast, etc.) were used in each commercial?  Provide at least two (2) and explain.  What affect did they have on the successfulness of the ads?
There was a color scheme in the puppy monkey baby ad of purple and white. It helped the ad a lot because it is the color of the can they used so you could easily identify it. Texture was used with the puppy monkey baby with the fir to make it look like you could reach out and touch it
